One of the key missions of the Center is to facilitate novel translational and clinical research focused on improving outcomes in musculoskeletal care by bringing together experts from the basic sciences with thought leaders from clinical medicine. In addition to the core faculty which consists of multiple physician scientists (Dr. Janet Crane, Dr. Shadpour Demehri, Dr. Amit Jain, Dr. Xiao Wang), the Center collaborates with many physician scientists and other full-time clinicians with expertise in disease of the spine, joints, and musculature.

Ongoing studies include prospective clinical registries focusing on spinal degeneration, spinal deformity, joint arthritis, post-traumatic conditions, and musculoskeletal pain. From time to time, the center also participates in or conducts clinical trials of innovative treatment paradigms.
