Meeting details:
Speaker: Dr. Ling Li, PhD
Professor of Experimental & Clinical Pharmacology,
University of Minnesota
 Date: 1/21/2026Â
 Time: 12:00 PM Â
Meeting ID: 929 0213 8456 Dr. Ling Li is a Professor of Experimental & Clinical Pharmacology and Chair of Pharmacology for the Elderly at the University of Minnesota.Dr. Li earned her Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology from Iowa State University and completed two rounds of postdoctoral training at Mount Sinai Medical Center and University of Alabama with a research focus on lipoprotein metabolism and atherosclerosis, and neurobiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) respectively. Dr. Li's recent research focuses on the role of mitochondrial lipidomic dynamics and its interaction with APOE4 in pathogenic brain aging and AD; the impact of SARS-CoV-2 infection and its interaction with APOE on cognitive function and neuropathology in aging and AD; the role of cholesterol, isoprenoids and protein prenylation in regulating synaptic plasticity and cognitive function in AD; structure and function of high-density lipoproteins (HDL) and associated apolipoproteins; the therapeutic potential of HDL-mimetic peptides to reverse pathogenic effects of APOE4 and to enhance cerebrovascular function and cognitive performance in aging and AD; modeling and reversing Alzheimer’s pathology via human iPSC-derived brain organoids.
Presently, Dr. Li is leading efforts to elucidate the underlying pathogenic mechanisms of Alzheimer's and develop effective approaches to mitigate cognitive decline and other comorbidities associated with aging and Alzheimer's.
