CMR Seminar Series: Dr. Zhidao Xia

Dr. Xia is a Senior Lecturer in Regenerative Medicine at Swansea University Medical School, UK.


He obtained his qualification in orthopaedic surgery in China and served as an Associate Professor at Wuhan Union Hospital, Tongji Medical University from 1995 until he relocated to Oxford in 1998. In 2005, he completed his PhD at Oxford University and subsequently worked there as a research fellow before advancing to the role of senior research fellow. Dr. Xia joined Swansea University in 2010 and currently holds that position. His research primarily focuses on skeletal tissue regeneration, with a specific emphasis on bone, cartilage, tendon, and wound healing. His recent work centers around the development of 3D-printed biodegradable bone grafts and the application of stem cell technology for bone regeneration. We are excited to announce we will be hosting Dr. Zhidao Xia as our speaker for the Center for Musculoskeletal Research Seminar Series. 

Dr. Xia will share insights regarding, "The development of a biomimetic bone graft substitute and its application for enhanced bone regeneration". 

 

The seminar will be hosted in a hybrid format at the Ross 203 Conference room Monday, June 9th 2025. The scheduled start time is 12:00 pm EST.
